Can you post the content of your template.html.p and <http://uptown.html.pm\|uptown.html.pm>? A minimal example that causes the problem is fine too (and probably better).

FWIW, if you use DrRacket, you can also hover mouse over identifiers and it will show its type in a tooltip.
