@spdegabrielle This wiki page also provides a good basis for hosting game jams: https://itch.io/docs/creators/game-jams

One good improvement for example would be to define judge’s criteria

Something like “Fun and easy to understand”, “Pretty/Coherent Graphics”, “Originality of the concept” and “Would you play again?”

@jerome.martin.dev I’ve added the gamejam guidance to https://github.com/competitions-incubator/gamejam/blob/master/README.md

@jerome.martin.dev let me know you guthub username and I’ll add you as contributor

@jerome.martin.dev defining judging criteria is a great idea - I wish I’d thought of it, :grinning:

@samdphillips @jerome.martin.dev can I link to your gamejam entries from the readme

gamejam proposal: competition runs for the month of October Judges: @samdphillips @notjack @jerome.martin.dev? Prizes: win the title of ‘best game’ , etc for other categories (no budget for prizes) also community choice voting in categories running for entire month (maybe don’t need judges)

I was thinking a way to encourage teams would be to have a “Best Team” category

gamejam proposal: competition runs for the month of October Judges: @samdphillips @notjack @jerome.martin.dev? Prizes: win the title of ‘best game’, BEST TEAM , etc for other categories (no budget for prizes) also community choice voting in categories running for entire month (maybe don’t need judges) * submission: racket package - must run under DrRacket * you can enter as many times as you like * categorys; best game, best team, most entries, best sidescroller, best puzzle, best shooter, etc. * real time voting; so entrants are encouraged to promote their entries on social media; especially discord, twitch, youtube, reddit.

Submissions should contain instructions for how to run the game and any additional libraries required.

I’m mostly thinking binary / FFI libraries on that.

@samdphillips That’s why I’m suggesting it is packaged as a racket package open DrRacket Install package (require myfungame) (run-my-fun-game)
of course this means you have to package up the binaries

Ok

sorry I’ve got to get out of the habit of editing my mesasges

No worries
