@leif the bibliography links in the super 8 paper are broken — clicking a citation jumps to the first page. https://www2.ccs.neu.edu/racket/pubs/icfp17-acf.pdf

is it acceptable etiquette to create two posts on Racket users and dev email lists about the same thing or to alert users about a topic on dev email list? I believe the dev email list is low traffic so I was thinking to alert interested users to check the other list but didn’t want to seem spammy.

@zeeshanlakhani @leif the problem seems to be, the section header for the Bib / References isn’t a valid target for hyperref

  1. if I add a \section{Foo} just after the bibliography, links work

ben

  1. if I change the bibliography from \Ssectionstarx{Bibliography} to \Ssection{Bibliography} (in the generated TeX), then links work

oh, interesting.

ben

Adding \phantomsection to \Sectionstarx works … setting up a PR now but I’m not going to test it now

@ben thanks for all the work

leif
2017-9-15 17:29:54

@ben Interesting and good catch.

leif
2017-9-15 17:29:57

Thanks.

leif
2017-9-15 17:30:02

Did you already post a push to fix it?

leif
2017-9-15 17:31:00

@abmclin I think most of the people on the dev mailing list are also on the users mailing list so just posting to users will get everyone. (If that is what you’re going for.)

leif
2017-9-15 17:31:22

Although I personally think posting a link to the dev list to the users list conversation would be fine.

leif
2017-9-15 17:31:27

(Although I am just one person. :wink: )

abmclin

Ha ok, my reasoning had been that work on package system was more of a developer thing than general users. I’ll post to the users list and link to the dev list post.

@silke.thomas has joined the channel

notjack

@abmclin maybe a #pkg channel would be worth adding to the slack?

abmclin
2017-9-15 20:18:51

sure, I would like that. There’ll certainly be a need for at length discussions about ideas for improving the package system.

abmclin
2017-9-15 20:19:01

who should I petition for adding the channel?

notjack
2017-9-15 20:19:37

@stamourv dost thou hath channel create powers?

notjack
2017-9-15 20:19:56

it would work as a good place for announcing new packages or talking about community packages too

abmclin
2017-9-15 20:20:24

Agreed

abmclin

notjack
2017-9-15 20:33:56

@stamourv huh, I guess I just assumed I wouldn’t be able to

notjack
2017-9-15 20:35:23

Tested, anyone can make a channel. Will keep that in mind :p
