I am strugglilng to get some layout done in slideshow. Is there a way to show some code on the right side of a slide, while having a growing list of items (done ’next) on the left hand side?

No, that’s a typo. Every plateau-2017 should be pepm-2018

@pocmatos you can do that with the ppict library and pslide. You probably need to parameterize current-para-width to account for the narrower space for the items.
