@abmclin No I haven’t tried msys2 yet. Thanks for the tip. I will definitely try that. (For now I’ve reached temporary equilibrium at least having installed Windows version of ripgrep, the Emacs mode deadgrep, and hooked ripgrep into projectile-search-project. So, at least I can search in projects smoothly. And ripgrep is much faster than grep; I prefer it on macOS anyway. Having said all that, I still want all the unixy command-line tools, preferably from one source — hopefully msys2 will be that.)
