If that’s still working well (?) maybe it’s fine.

Until N years ago the Racket mailing lists were self-hosted. I think the original idea was to use Google Groups as a convenient mailing list host.

Sorry weak internet connection those 2 msgs arrived out of order.

the need for a google login to search it is a pita

but goog havn’t deprecated it yet

It’s one of those things you leave alone till it breaks

On the one hand, I’m old enough to appreciate the advantages of a mailing list. Google or Discourse or whomever can’t “fresh look” it to death, or force you into their login system, etc. etc.

OTOH I realize it has drawbacks and definitely isn’t as shiny as the latest thing (until the latest thing gets ruined… see above :smile:).

I prefer a mailing list - but I’m not putting my hand up to administer a gnu mailman instance.

Yep.

Maybe there is some service out there, that’s all they do. Aggregate the pager-duty aspect of a mailing list server, for some small monthly fee. idk

Something to keep our eyes open for. GG was never going to last forever and I don’t think it is time to switch yet, but being aware of alternatives is a good idea.

Anyone else here using DrRacket as x86–32bits on a ARM64 Windows machine, or I am the only one?

Discourse is great, I used it a lot at Mozilla. Apparently hosting your own is a bit hard.

@asumu will the Racket PPA be updated with 7.8 soon? I can use 7.7 for teaching class, but wanted to double-check…

I’ve started a small collection!

I’m looking for more ideas/contributions;

From the top of my head; - ‘worker service’ (dotnet new has this) - DrRacket plugin - Keybinding package - Teachpack - raco command - scribble (multiple) - pollen (multiple) - slideshow - racket embedded in c app
Can you suggest(or submit) any others?
