Anyone else getting the Racket 8.0 Windows installer reported as vulnerable? (https://mirror.racket-lang.org/installers/8.0/racket-8.0-x86_64-win32-cs.exe)

Probably not a big issue, it seems to only be reported by Edge Dev, it matches the SHA1 hash, and Windows Defender is fine with it.

@dyllongagnier There were a problem

Consider writing John an short, note that you are still seeing it in Edge Dev.

Thanks, also seeing it when I tried to run a version downloaded from another browser.

Glad to hear it is just a false alarm

Chrome?

I tested out a few browsers and it seems like they were all having the prompt when you try to run it after downloading. Edge just nags about it earlier.

After some testing, I think the issue might be because the installer immediately tries to run as admin instead of elevating itself after starting. I posted my findings in the Google group thread.

The announcement of 8.0 is now on the front page of the orange site.

It’s in the dialog you get when you select “choose language” in the language menu

Just spotted @racketfest announce on Twitter:

This year, Racketfest goes online (to @gather_town) on March 26 & 27. > > Details here: http://racketfest.com\|racketfest.com. > > Register: https://gumroad.com/l/racketfest-2021-amateur-night-ticket\|https://gumroad.com/l/racketfest-2021-amateur-night-ticket The last Racketfest was great so I’m looking forward to this one (I’ve already got my ticket)!
Thank you @jesse.alama !

No. At best, it might work anyway.
Nothing that touches continuation marks or the Racket continuations layer has been specifically made to work, but the relevant state might be in Chez Scheme virtual registers (ok) as opposed to Racket place-local state or thread cells (not ok).

Okay, thanks. I was afraid of that. (It does appear to work at the moment, at least in a few cases I’ve tried.)
