There is a history in the scheme community of picking mildly nefarious words for names of implementations as an homage to the original name (“schemer”) and the two names of follow ups (“planner” and “conniver”).

One of the things we liked about “racket” was it was (is) a nod to that.

At least for one of the meanings of the word.
