Thanks @alexharsanyi - I’m putting this in (with some edits for emphasis).

Ok quite significant edits because I’m changing the title to Racket is fast.

https://github.com/racket/racket/wiki/Fast-Racket but I think @alexharsanyi has gone to bed. Sweet Racketty Dreams

It’s a not very interesting search-and-replace of an essay about Ruby, and I don’t think it’s true either.

Also I endorse all the things @lexi.lambda says in her comment.

It was inevitable that we would eventually agree on something, Sam.

does object-name work instead here?

It only gives the first one. I mostly needed 'afield

I listened to this interview, which caused me to buy Richard Feldman’s book on Elm. Previously, I’d ignored Elm. https://corecursive.com/teaching-fp-with-richard-feldman/

This whole thing really falls apart at the point when it says that Haskell people were disparaging Go in the mid–2000s. I also agree that it seems horrendously inaccurate in a number of respects.

I’m happy I missed the Reddit discussions of the mid–2000s. Somehow that reminds me of some pretty wild endless discussions and not always productive discussions that used to take place on comp.lang.lisp, I like being in my own happy place with languages I like and with cool tools and people. Life is short, enjoy it with what and whom you love.
