If someone answers your question (and, therefore, is very kind to you), do you just tag a +1 or do you say THANK YOU as I think one should? I do try to avoid posting to channels, but if I would start a thread, it would unnecessarily beep the person that has actually helped me, which seems much worse.

I write a quick “thanks” in the channel, and give a thumbs up reaction or similar. That’s me though, there’s not a particular standard to follow, I don’t think.

When I answer questions I don’t have any expectation of a response. Thanks yous and emojis are nice certainly but it’s totally fine with me if the other person never says anything. Goodness knows I’ve forgotten to respond to my fair share of conversations.

Yes, this will vary. I don’t care either if I am not replied to, but I feel differently when someone just saves me a ton of trial-and-error.
