Er, define “the other side of the equator”. Plus, where I live, almost all tomatoes are grown in hot-houses, so they’re in supermarkets year-round. (Which isn’t to say that good tomatoes are available year-round)
Actually, there’s a pretty good chance I’m on the other side of the Tropic of Capricorn from you (or, at least, most people who post in here).
