I think I even would have understood this from the start (not made the mistake). :slightly_smiling_face:
But there’s one other thing I find often a bit confusing (ran into this just today and had to look it up again).
The grep
tool has two options, -B
and -A
, to specify the number of context lines to display before and after a matching line. Clear enough. But the meaning is just the opposite if you think you “remember” that -A
means above and -B
means below. :smile: I hope I can remember now that the order how the options apply is not the alphabetical order.
